- What is SolarsBay?
SolarsBay is a website providing a trading platform for solar energy. It uses eBay's trusted trading services to enable people to buy and sell solar energy.
- Who can buy and sell solar energy?
Everyone can. Since we are all exposed to a certain amount of sun, we can all sell solar energy.
- If we all have solar energy available, why would anyone want to buy solar energy?
Although all of us are exposed to the sun, different areas in the world have different levels of exposure to the sun. In areas near the equator, the exposure to sun is the strongest. Also, in these areas, there are usually more sunny days and there are more sunny hours every day. These areas own more solar energy.People who live in these areas are likely to sell their excessive solar energy to people who live in areas closer to the North and South polls, areas such as northern Europe or northeastern United States.
- How much solar energy can I sell?
On SolarsBay,solar energy units are measured in Solars. When you join SolarsBay, you are allocated a varying amount of Solars (anywhere between 1-20 Solars), depending on where you live. If you live in areas with many sunny days throughout the year, closer to the equator, you will receive more Solars than a member who lives far from the equator.
- How much solar energy can I buy?
As much as you want, depending on how much solar energy is up for sale by SolarsBay sellers.
- Can I resell Solars I bought?
You can. SolarsBay allows you ro resell Solars you bought-either directly from the owner of the Solars or from another reseller.
- How much does a single Solar cost?
Similar tp other marketplaces, the price of Solars varies, depending on the the simple concept of supply and demand. Solars are sold through eBay auctions, so the members who buy Solars will determine the price. There is no fixed price set by SolarsBay or by anyone else-for each auction,the highest bidder wins.
- I want to join the SolarsBay community and start buying and selling Solars. What do I need to do?
To become a seller on SolarsBay, you need to have a seller account on eBay. Read here for more details. If you only plan to buy Solars, you need to be an eBay member. - Is SolarsBay kind of a game?
No,SolarsBay is not a game.It's a real marketplace,based upon the principal of supply and demand. The demand for energy will always exist and solar energy is the energy source of the future. As for the supply side - manypeople on this planet live in areas where solar energy is abundant. They will be able to supply the demand of people who live in places who do not have solar energy (or any other form of renewable,free energy) available.
- How will the solar energy be supplied by the seller to the buyer?
Current technology already provides means for transferring energy over thousands of miles. The page you are reading is located on a computer in another part of the world. In a sense, the page is transformed to energy. These energy travels half way around the world (over the Internet's communication infrastructure) and then translated back to text. Also, Solar panel are becoming more efficient while their price drops. We believe that the combination of these two technologies - solar panels installed on rooftops of solar energy sellers together with the technology to support the transfer of that energy will provide the means to facilitate the exchange of energy. No,you don't have to buy anything. When the technology to facilitate the actual transfer of solar energy from the seller to the buyer will becomeavailable, you will be able to sell your excessive solar energy.
